 Sneaky look at a large scale charcoal drawing for Biteproof issue 3. I cant quite remember the title but it is something like this: 'American lies, American somethings and an Indiginous dose of native American highs'. Apologies for forgetting. Not that I need to make excuses for myself but my forward working memory IS distinctly below average. Anyway, it was fun. I drew stuff from the British Museum.

Also for sale were some of Su Pettigrew's collages and screen prints- (she generously helped out on the stall regardless of the hangover), Matt Crump's BITE PROOF 1 and 2, Candy Lo's paintings, Elfin (Isabel White's) screen prints and risos, a collection of some of James Cartwright's beautiful outrageous screen prints,  some of my giclees from PENDING IN THE INTERMEDIATE LAKE and the etching 'bore presse'.

To make public (from brief):
We will investigate (and ask you to consider) motives for authoring, editioning and distributing a work to a specific audience. We will investigate (and ask you to use) processes through hand-printmaking and binding to digital reprographics and finishing. 

We have been asked to do the following

1) Describe: content, audience, points of distribution.

2) Research a variety of very different printed publications to apply these questions to.

Biteproof is an independent publication where the title of each issue is the running theme. It is a compilation of contributions created by a variety of artists illustrating the title. Only sections (or crops) of work as part of the contributors obligatory terms and conditions of participation are allowed to be published on line (rights remain those of the artist). Therefor the only way to see the whole is by purchasing the book. A response to promoting the genuine purchase of art publications and to advocate the aesthetics of physical ownership by democratizing the purchase of artbooks through affordability.
